Spring semester of P2 year I took an elective outside of the College of Pharmacy called Death, Dying and Bereavement (HDF421). You can take up to one elective outside of the COP and I highly recommend this one with Ethan Adler. There were a couple of exams (that are all on Quizlet!) plus a couple of assignments from a book we have to read that are very laid back. I found this class to be a really good break from core and pharmacy and was very useful since conversations about death and dying with patients isn't really integrated into our curriculum. You may tear up from the stories he brings up in his 8 am class so bring tissues :'( Let me know if you have questions about it!
I would like to ALSO agree that this is the best class ever. The break from pharmacy school is amazing not just for the sake of having less work/pressure/guidelines to read (Lol), but also to get to think about concepts we don't spend a lot of time in our curriculum- grief, family, human emotions, etc. I loved it so much that I still volunteer with an organization that helps grieving children, which I was connected to via this class. Ethan Adler is amazing and so is this class!
